Over the years in which these estimates are produced there have been some improvements to the methods used in calculating the estimates, therefore there may be anomalies when comparing one year with another. The figures are produced annually and cover the period of 1st April to 31st March.
Figures are based on ticket sales where a station is mentioned as the source or destination station and some calculations made for non station specific tickets e.g. Derbyshire Wayfarer and SYPTE Travelmaster tickets. People changing trains at stations are also included. See the website above for further details.
